At Una Gama, every bamboo construction project begins with a detailed understanding of the vision, functional requirements, and overall project scope.
Through every stage of the process, we work closely with our clients to provide clear direction, collaborative support, and solutions tailored to the unique requirements of each project.
Whether architectural drawings are already in place or the project is still in its early stages, we guide our clients on the most appropriate pathway forward.
Costing, Design & Engineering
Once the preliminary design direction has been established, an initial cost estimate is prepared. A mobilisation fee is then required to secure the project within Una Gama’s schedule and to commence the sourcing, grading, and treatment of bamboo materials.
Due to the careful preparation required when working with a natural material, this process can take up to two months.
Following the design phase, and in parallel with material sourcing, engineering is undertaken in collaboration with structural engineers experienced in bamboo construction. Depending on the complexity and scale of the project, this phase typically takes between one and two months to complete.
Agreement, Planning & Preparation
Once engineering documentation has been finalised, a detailed construction quotation, project schedule, and payment structure are issued prior to the signing of a formal construction agreement. A conventional contractor is appointed for all foundations and masonry works.
Prior to construction on site, Una Gama undertakes an off-site preparation process at our bamboo factory, where materials are processed, and prefabricated structural and architectural elements are assembled prior to transportation to site.
This approach improves precision, quality control, efficiency, and reduces material waste.
Delivery, Assembly & Coordination
Once materials are prepared and prefabricated, they are delivered to site for installation by our skilled bamboo carpentry team. We support coordination and sequencing to ensure the bamboo structure is assembled in line with engineering specifications.
